We don’t hide behind a culture of beer, hoodies, and pizza to show how cool we are. Each and every one of us contributes something new, fresh, and fun to our culture - and we’re not afraid to show it off. Whether it’s how you choose to decorate your workspace – flexing that green thumb with your latest succulents’ collection or showcasing your unending nostalgia with your Tamagotchis from the 90’s – or talking about your kids’ favorite activities or your exciting concert plans.
We know that our unique experiences and backgrounds are what makes our company great. And we love to share who we are with the people we spend a good chunk of our time with.
We live by the philosophy that we’re friends first, colleagues second. Why? Because we know that when teams share a deeper connection, outcomes improve. We spend more time at work than we do with family and friends, so why not make work feel less like work and more like fun? We encourage getting to know one another and having strong relationships that transcend work deliverables.
We emphasize team achievements and take pride in individual accomplishments. We put great stock in our employees: energetic, passionate people from diverse backgrounds and creative approaches to work, play, and life. We know that having a sense of fulfillment and pride translates into and surpasses the work that we do and the services we provide. We want you to be a success - not threatened by someone else’s success.
“Why so serious?” you ask. Because discrimination is a serious issue and it’s one that continues to proliferate our society. As a company, we fundamentally believe that creating and maintaining a safe space that allows for all people, - regardless of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status - to feel 100% comfortable being who they are and bringing their whole selves to work, is fundamental to the success of our business - a skyrocketing competitive advantage! It’s also, very simply, the human thing to do.
We do not have diversity, inclusion, and equality protocols to meet regulatory or compliance commitments. We define our standards and do it because we viscerally believe in respect, love, and authentic expression for all. We also understand that our business thrives when we all thrive. You have our unwavering commitment to ALWAYS listen, to understand and take action to make change. Workforce inequality and injustice are not welcome here.
Given the breakneck pace of change in technology and business, we know it’s important to never stop learning. Whether you’re part of our Technology, Sales, Client Management, or Product teams; we all have unique skills that we bring to the business. We are each valuable in the roles we serve, but it’s always great to open our eyes and ears to new ideas, new perspectives, and new stories on how ‘to’ and ‘not to’ do certain things in different industries. Shadow a colleague from another department. Find a Meetup that interests you and that can broaden your horizons. Grab a colleague (or a friend) and drag them along too – they’ll thank you. Or, participate in our Multicultural Days to share, recognize, and celebrate the diverse cultures that make us who we are and help shed light on why we’re so awesome. At the end of the day, we can only expand-upon our skills and insight if we are willing to open our minds to new ways of doing things!
Micromanaging (excuse my French) is a bad word and we don’t like it here. Everyone comes to the table with unique skills, insights, and talents - and everyone is empowered to put those gifts into action. We firmly believe failure is just a step closer to success. So if you need help, ask for it. If you need to lean on somebody for advice, we support one other. If you have an opinion to share, share it. But whatever you do, don’t be afraid to take on new challenges and be bold about new ideas. You are here because of what you bring to the table. Let’s see what you got!
Silence can breed assumptions, discomfort, and resentment. And politicking and backstabbing are not ways to get things done. We encourage honesty and empathy through open dialogue and we have a strict open-door policy. Trust is a critical part of who we are and how we work together. We believe everyone has an equal opportunity to be heard. Good ideas, good businesses, good projects, and good changes all start with a core of equality. Your thoughts are important — no matter who, what, why, or where you are. All opinions matter and from the CEO down, spirited debates are not only okay - they are welcome.
We get it, lunch time is your time to sit in front of your computer, pay a few personal bills, or research things you’re personally interested in. But take some time to get away from that desk; take a walk (even if it’s just going up and down the flight of stairs a few times), chat with colleagues in the breakout areas; but eat lunch and disconnect from your tasks at your desk. You’ll feel so much better in the afternoon!
Take advantage of our unlimited PTO Policy. It’s not a psychological mind F$%^* - it’s there to be used. Take a day off during the month to do something spontaneous with friends or loved ones. Go skiing, fishing, gallery hopping, or just spend a lazy afternoon in bed while the kids are at school. The point is, taking a little time away from the regular routine and spending it on something different will do a world of good. What’s the point in having unlimited PTO, if you don’t take advantage of it?
Being a technologist at a company like Urban FT is something you hope you get to do someday! It’s a growing company, using technology that is in the forefront, with opportunities everywhere.
Urban FT strives to be the one-stop-shop to power the underdog. We never stop learning, growing and improving to accomplish our goals. Working alongside like minded peers is what sets us apart.
The culture at Urban FT is why I love this place. Everyone's part of the team and we're all in it together.
I love the cross-country company culture, how we participate in virtual activities together as a company whether you're in California, Minneapolis or New York.
Adding that little bit extra.
Sorry, we don't currently have any open positions.
